Recently I try to start my day with a green smoothie. It gives me some kind of kickstart to healthier eating troughout the whole day. Here’s one of my favourite recipes (makes approx. 3 big glasses which you can store 1-2 days in the refrigerator):

2-3 cups spinach

1 small apple

1 oz. lemon or lime juice

1 banana (preferably frozen)

½ bunch parsley

piece of ginger

½ cup pineapple juice

5-6 ice cubes

1 cup coconut water

Mince all ingredients finely with an hand-held blender (the parsley should be pureed really good), then put in blender, add coconut water and mix really well with the ice cubes. Voila, tasty AND healthy!

You can improve the recipe above by adding supplement powders such as hemp protein (protein, minerals, omega fats), spirulina (protein, essential amino acids, minerals), guarana (natural caffein), acai (antioxidants, omega fats, amino acids) or maca (fibre, minerals, carbohydrates) powder. I really like the organic powders from naturya which I order online at amazon.
